The Meteorological Service of Canada is the largest government-owned organization that works in the field of weather and the forecasting. The history of the Meteorological advancements can be traced back to 1871 when the agency was formed. There are many other organizations which are related to the Meteorological Service of Canada. This is because the travel and many other tasks solely depend on the weather. Winter 2018

La Nina is a code which is used by the Meteorological Service of Canada to convey the important message that there would be extreme rainfall. For winter 2018, La Nina has been predicted for the country. As per the agency, the weather would be much colder than it was in 2017. The service has also predicted that this year the storms will be accompanying the rains and the Canadians should buckle up for the extreme weather change that would change the way they spend their times in winter. This year the winter snowfalls will continue into March 2019. Though the predictions are split among the different weather experts most of them are of the view that winters would not be what they were in the past decade.

Awareness about the weather

The Meteorological Service of Canada is taking extensive measures to make sure that the people are made aware of the weather, predictions and how to make use of them. Environment and Climate Change Canada has started the initiative with the Meteorological Service of Canada and is offering all necessary help to make the people know that the wildfire smoke is harmful to the health and can be disastrous if measures are not taken. The National Research Council of Canada has urged Meteorological Service of Canada to provide the updated predictions about the weather so that the building codes could be assigned. It is all because of the fact that in the past there have been issues with the construction of various buildings in Northern Provinces. The weather predictions and the compiled data have been asked by the council. This has also put hiatus on many constructions which are underway. The best part of this approach is that the alteration will be done during the construction rather than later.

In the summer of 2018, Ontario and southern Quebec will face severe storms and the residents are asked to evacuate the areas as soon as the alert is issued. Prairies will have a very hot and dry weather which could cause a wildfire. This also has been predicted to make sure that the residents remain safe and secure.
